How the firm is run
Alongkind grows by identifying what needs protecting.
Alongkind is structured more like a firm than a single product. It is organised around responsibilities that protect different forms of integrity. Governance lives at the firm's centre and is owned by no single office — every office depends on it.
We didn't design departments. We identified what needed protecting.
Each office protects one form of integrity, and each keeps asking one question.
"Where does this belong?"
"Is this the clearest, truthful way to say this?"
"What should survive?"
"What follows from this?"
"Who is authorised to act?"
The Constitution holds what Alongkind believes. It is deliberately unfinished — beliefs earn their place through practice, not by being written down early. What is emerging:
The Handbook is how Alongkind stays itself over time. Its first rule is simple: observation precedes doctrine. The Handbook may draw from what the firm has observed, but never bypass it.
The Canon preserves the language that has proven itself through repeated use. It is kept deliberately small — a line earns its place by recurring, never by decree.
Don't name before observing. Don't canonise before recurring. Don't claim before evidencing.
